OUR SERVICES
GYNAECOLOGY
Dr Penrose offers a comprehensive Gynaecological service. From a simple PAP smear through to complex surgery, she will ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with the care you are recieving.
COLPOSCOPY
If you have been referred by your GP for an abnormal Cervical Screening result, Dr Penrose will examine your cervix with a colposcope to assess whether further treatment is needed.
OBSTETRICS
Dr Penrose does not offer private Obstetric services at this time.
PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION
Dr Penrose has a special interest in prolapse and incontinence and has undertaken further training in this area. She recommends attending a specialist women's health physiotherapist to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
A range of vaginal support pessaries are available for fitting in the rooms.
If this is insufficient she is able to offer surgical correction of prolapse.
BLADDER FUNCTION TESTS
Urodynamic studies may be recommened to further assess your bladder if you are suffering with incontinence or bladder dysfunction.
Dr Penrose is able to offer this testing as a day procedure.
If this confirms you are a suitable candidate, Dr Penrose is able to offer minimally invasive surgery for correction of urinary stress incontinence (suburethral sling or 'TVT').
